Explore Gently, Grow Quietly, Restore Deeply
“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.” - John Muir
Spending time in nature gently invites us back to ourselves. Whether it’s a quiet walk beneath the trees, the sound of birdsong at dawn or noticing how the seasons shift, these simple moments help calm the mind and soothe the nervous system. Nature doesn’t demand; it offers space, presence and perspective. It’s often in these unhurried moments outdoors that we find clarity, connection and a quiet sense of wellbeing.
Root & Restore grew from a deep love of nature and the healing moments it offers when we slow down enough to notice. Here, you’ll find inspiration for self-nurture through nature, gentle reflection, and journaling.

This is me…
My story has always been rooted in nature. I grew up surrounded by the wild living on a narrowboat, exploring rivers and woodlands and climbing mountains with my dad. Those early years gifted me a lifelong sense of wonder and belonging in the natural world.
As I grew older, that connection deepened. I’ve spent my career working in nature based education and people engagement, helping others discover the same magic I’ve always felt. Alongside my career, bird ringing became a quiet passion. It is a practice of care, patience and love and it developed a deeper appreciation of the natural world and the animals we share it with.
Alongside my career, I raised three children with muddy boots and wild hearts, always encouraging them to find joy in the simple things and allowing them to form their own connections to the natural world as my dad once did for me.
Everything I create here, from mindfulness inspiration to ideas for nurturing little ones, is a reflection of how I live… slowly, intentionally and always with a deep love for the planet.
Creativity has always walked hand in hand with my love for nature and I find peace in painting, printmaking and journaling and I’ve been lucky enough to weave these passions into my work. I hope these offerings bring you a sense of grounding, inspiration and connection.. to yourself and to the natural world around you.
With warmth, Sarah Lynne

Summer has been busy! I’ve been making the most of the beautiful summer landscape, soaking in the vibrant colours and slowing down to appreciate the wildlife around me that is unique to this time of year. The seasons come around so quickly, it has been a pleasure to slow down, enjoy the present and allow some creativity in.
